Welcome to my little corner of the web!
In my last post I listed the best places to waste your time on the internet 10-5. Now I will reveal what I feel to be the four finest sites on the internet. I know some of you are going to disagree (most of you?) and that is fine. I spent a lot of time thinking about these and have to say the choices were tough. I mean the internet is huge and narrowing it down to just ten sites? Let's just say my brain is probably suffering from some kind of hemorrhage right now, but it's all good. Now on to the list...
Maybe I am weird, or maybe just a product of to much time on the internet. Whatever the case may be I really dig Hulu. I mean not am I just watching TV shows and movies, but I am watching them on the internet and that makes it better!
Seriously, the reason I actually really enjoy Hulu is because I can find all kinds of shows that bring me back. It's kind of fun just to browse through all the shows on the site. Like the proverbial stroll down memory lane. On top of Hulu having some great television shows, it also carries movies. Lately they have even thrown up some pretty damn good ones. If you haven't found Hulu yet, check it out www.hulu.com.
Who hasn't browsed Ebay for at least a little. Not only is this auction site a great place to find bargains, but it's also the first place I go when I am looking for something hard to find. Nine times out of ten I manage to find it on Ebay. Admitted they are not quite the site they used to be if you want to sell stuff, but if you are a buyer looking for a great deal, there is no place better than ebay. For those who have yet to discover the wonder of Ebay you can find it at www.ebay.com
One of the first “megasites” on the internet, Amazon has become an integral part of the internet landscape. It was tough choosing this site over Ebay, I have spent a lot of time on both actually, but I had to tip my hat to amazon. Not only do they offer a ton of items by themselves, but by allowing other merchants to peddle their wares, there is almost nothing you can't find new or used. Next time you are looking for a book or just about anything else, be sure to check out www.amazon.com
While it wasn't the first social networking site on the internet, it has risen to become the most used and well known. Originally a site where you could post photos and send short messages to your friends, Facebook has expanded to include games, information, and an opportunity to broaden your circle to include practically anyone else in the world.
Does not deserve to be number 1 you say? I would have to disagree, web 2.0 is all about social networking and no one does it better than facebook. In case you haven't been there yet, find it at www.facebook.com.
So those are my top ten places to waste your time on the internet. Agree? Disagree? Let me know by leaving a comment. To give you a bit of a hint about what my next post is going to cover I can tell you this. It involves one of the sites listed above.
In fact, if you think you are really clever, send me a message about what you think I will talk about. I will give you a couple of Oosh points, not that you can use them for anything...
